Geneva woman uses children to help steal

Tammy J. Marquez, 31, of 4 Gates Ave., was charged by county deputies Thursday night with petty larceny and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.Marquez is accused of putting about 20 store itemsinto bags and leaving the Geneva Wal-Mart withoutpaying for them. The value of the items was $97.65.Deputies said Marquez allowed her 10- and 11-year-old sons to help her by having them remove itemsfrom the packages and hide them in bags she was carrying. A 10-year-old boy, a friend of her sons, was present, also.Marquez was issued an appearance ticket to Geneva Town Court.
