Members of the Seneca Falls Police Department will be at the St. Anthony’s Festival, Ovid Street, Seneca Falls on Saturday September 3rd, 2011 from 1pm to 4pm conducting Operation: Safe Child. Operation: Safe Child is a free program that provides parents and guardians with a color identification card of their child. The ID card contains important biographical information that is vital to law enforcement during a missing person investigation.Statistics show that 34% of parents in the U.S. do not know their childs exact height, weight and eye color. When a child is reported missing time can be the greatest adversary. Possessing up-to-date photographs and detailed information about a child are important proactive measures that greatly assist law enforcement to quickley respond to a child’s disappearance.Authorizations forms will be available at the event or can be downloaded at http://senecafalls.com/forms/sfpd/operationsafechild-auth.pdf
