Serious motorcycle accident in Hopewell

Mercy Flight was called to the scene of a motorcycle accident on Freshour Road near the intersection of Stoddard Road just after 5 p.m. Monday. Neighbors near the accident scene said they helped calm the injured motorcyclist until an ambulance arrived to treat the man until Mercy Flight could airlift him to a hospital. “We had to keep him down, to keep him from moving,” said Paul Eisenhauer. “He was determined to get up.” Paul and his brother, Peter Eisenhauer, were among those hoping the man driving the motorcycle survived the crash involving a car that witnesses said was turning into the driveway of a yard sale when it collided with the motorcycle. Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies at the scene Monday would not give any details or names of those involved.“I heard the crash, I looked up and saw something flying,” said Andrea Perkins, who was in a van parked at the side of the road where the crash occurred. Her husband, Adam Perkins, was loading a book case they had bought at the sale into the van when the crash happened. Andrea said she saw the motorcyclist smash into the side of the road, on his face. Peter’s Eisenhauer’s daughter, Ashley Eisenhauer, said that stretch of road is dangerous. “People speed really bad and with these hills, you can’t see,” she said.
