Alarm sends pair running from W’loo business

On August 24, 2011 at approximately 04:00 AM The Waterloo Police Department responded to the D & M Grocery Store in the Village of Waterloo for a burglar alarm activation. Upon officers arrival, the front door glass window was broken and the door was unlocked. Through an investigation of the complaint the following arrests were made.Christopher L. Planty age 22 of 25 Peterman Road Building D Apartment 1 Seneca Falls, NY 13148 for Attempted Burlgary 3rd, Criminal Mischief 3rdand Conspiracy 5th. Planty was arraigned in the Village of Waterloo Court before Judge Mattoon where he was committed to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 secured bond.A sixteen year old male who’s name is being held due to his age was arrested for Attempted Burglary 3rd and Conspiracy 5th. He was issued anAppearance Ticket and was released. He is scheduled to appear in the Village of Waterloo Court before Judge Mattoon on September 7, 2011 to answer the charges.It is alleged that the two agreed to work together to break into the D & M Grocery store to steal money and cigarettes. The sixteen year old gavePlanty a hammer to break the door window and he also provided a look out as Planty did break the window. Once the window was broke, Planty reachedin and unlocked the door. The two then went to open the door and once they moved the door, an audible alarm activated scaring the two who ran off before they could steal any property.
