Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that Deputies investigated a two car personal injury motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Brewer and Hecker Roads in the Town of Waterloo. A vehicle driven by Blanche M. Spano age 78 of 293 E. Main St. Waterloo, NY was west bound on Hecker Rd when she failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection of Brewer Rd. Her vehicle was struck by a pick up truck driven David J. West age 39 of 116 S. Warner St. Oneida, NY. Waterloo Fire Dept responded to the scene and had to extract Elsie C. O’Connor age 85 of 2032 Edwards Rd. Waterloo from the Spano vehicle. O’Connor was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital by Mercy Flight with a head injury and is listed in guarded condition. Joshua C. Wright age 29 of 406 Lenox Ave. Oneida, NY a passenger in the West vehicle was treated at the scene by North Seneca Ambulance and transported to Geneva General Hospital for stomach pain. Spano and West were also treated by North Seneca Ambulance and taken to Geneva General Hospital for minor injuries. Spano was ticketed for failure to yield the right of way at a stop sign.
