Canandaigua Marine boat launch renovation

The first phase of a project to rehabilitate Canandaigua Lake State Marine Park will begin August 8, 2011. At thistime, two of the six ramps will be closed. The remaining four ramps will remain open while sheet pilings arebeing replaced. Please drive carefully around the construction zone.The second phase of the project will begin after Labor Day weekend. Phase two involves demolition andreconstruction of the launch ramps to improve boat access and safety. It will be necessary to close the launchwhile this work is in progress.Canandaigua Lake State Marine Park will close on September 6, 2011 and will remain closed until rampconstruction is complete. Anyone who is planning to use the State Boat Launch to remove their boat fromCanandaigua Lake this year is encouraged to do this as early as possible. The last day the boat launch will beavailable for public use is Monday, September 5.Boaters may also consider using other public boat ramps on Canandaigua Lake. DEC operates facilities atWoodville and West River. The Town of Canandaigua opens the boat ramp at Onanda after October 15th.To protect public safety, the site will be gated during this closure and no public access will be permitted.
