Waterloo Parents leave kids in hot car

Geneva – Two Waterloo parents accused of locking their children in a car on a hot day have been charged by Geneva City Police.Joseph T. Wendt, 32, and Sarah E. Anderson, 26. both of 1135 Hecker Road, Waterloo, were both charged with four counts of endangering the welfare of a child on July 20.Geneva police said an investigation revealed that Wendt and Anderson left their four children in a locked vehicle at Interlakes Orthopedics, on North Street in Geneva for about 30 minutes while they were inside.Police also added that the temperature in the vehicle was about 95 degrees when they arrived. Wendt was arraigned in city court and taken to the Ontario County Jail on $500 cash bail or $1,000 bail bond. Anderson was released on her own recognizance.They will answer charges in city court.
