Third Arrest made in Geneva Gang Assault – FingerLakes1.com Archive

A Rochester woman has been charged in connection with an alleged gang assault in Geneva earlier this month. Laquitta S. Jones, 20, of Finch St. Rochester, was charged Tuesday by Geneva City Police with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor. Jones, is accused of being in a group of about 15 people who assaulted a Geneva couple when they came out of their home complaining about the noise the group was making at around 3:00 AM on Sunday, July 17.Two previous participants in this incident were arrested that same day. They are Shayla M. Sapp of 25 Pine Street in Geneva and Kanea M. Grady of 232 Castle St. in Geneva. Sapp and Grady have been both been charged with second-degree gang assault, a mid-level felony. They are to answer charges in city court.Jones was arraigned in city court and taken to the county jail on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.In addition to the arrests of Sapp, Grady and Jones, Lt. Eric Heieck of the Geneva Police said that seven minors were arrested. Their charges will be handled in Ontario County Family Court because of their ages.In the earlier report by the Finger Lakes Times, the couple assaulted were taken to Geneva General Hospital where they were treated and released.
