SF Gang Assault Defendants Denied Appeal – FingerLakes1.com Archive

On July 20, 2011, the New York Court of Appeals, New York’s highest court, rejected further appeals from criminal defendants Marvin Snyder and William Meacham, who were convicted in 2009 of gang assault in the first degree after attacking Adrian Porter on September 26, 2008 at the Hunter’s Run apartment complex on Peterman Road in Seneca Falls. Porter was attacked after he posted William Meacham’s registered sex offender photograph at the apartment complex.Snyder’s attorney, Charles Greenberg of Buffalo, made four arguments, and Meacham’s attorney, John Tyo of Shortsville, made five arguments in support of their applications for permission to appeal. Seneca County District Attorney Barry Porsch argued against the defendants’ contentions. The Court of Appeals agreed with Porsch on all issues and denied the appeal applications of both defendants. Snyder and Meacham are serving 13 years and 14 years, respectively, in State prison.
