Sex abuse charges shut down Seneca Co. daycare

Seneca County Sheriff Jack Stenberg reports that Investigators have charged a 14 year old male in connection with a reported case of sex abuse at a Seneca County daycare. The 14 year old male was charged with Juvenile Delinquency for committing acts that would constitute seven counts of child abuse first degree and seven counts of endangering the welfare of a child if he were an adult. It is alleged that the juvenile male had sexual contact with several children in the day care on several different dates during the past nine months. The victims ranged in age from 6-9 years old.The juvenile suspect will report to probation at a future date to initiate Family Court Action. The daycare provider assisted Investigators with the investigation. Investigators were also assisted by Seneca County Child Protective Services and the NYS Office of Children and Family services. The daycare has been suspended pending a hearing. The investigation is continuing.
