Ontario man allegedly in a 2 County chase

According to this morning’s Finger Lakes Times a police pursuit across two counties Saturday ended in the arrest of an Ontario man. Charles L. Stedge, 19, of Ridge Road, Ontario, was charged by Ontario County Deputies with third-degree unlawful fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle. He also faces several traffic citations. Mr. Stedge was charged by Wayne County Deputies with attempted aggravated assault on a police officer, first-degree reckless endangerment, unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle, reckless driving, unlawful possession of marijuana and several vehicle and traffic violations. According to deputies, the pursuit began in Wayne County, continued south into Ontario County and ended back in Wayne County. Mr. Stedge was arraigned in Palmyra Town Court and sent to Wayne County Jail without bail. Deputies said further charges are pending from the State Police.
