Sheriff David Gould reports that the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Fatal Farm Accident in the Town of Niles.At about 13:58 pm a neighbor driving on Old Salt Road located a Farmall Tractor rolled over in the ditch just north of 4455 Old Salt Road. August Komoroski, age 88, of 4455 Old Salt Road, had been mowing with a sickle-bar mower around his farm yard when the tractor went over the bank and rolled about 30 feet down a steep bank to the ditch along Old Salt Road. Mr. Komoroski was pronounced dead at the scene.Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the New York State Police, Cayuga County Emergency Management Office, Cayuga County Coroner’s Office, Four Town Ambulance, New Hope Fire Department, Sempronius Fire Department, West Niles Fire Department, Three Town Fire District, Moravia Fire Department, Owasco Fire Department and the Critical Incident Stress Management Team.
