Cooking with the Calamari Sisters Run Extended

Merry-Go-Round Playhouse announces that it has extended the run of Cooking with the Calamari Sisters: Mangia Italiano! It has added three more weeks of performances due to heavy ticket sales. The show will now close on Sunday, August 20, 2011. Cooking with the Calamari Sisters will have two casts due to the physical demands and the performance schedule of eight shows a week. In addition to the original cast, the second cast will feature MGR favorite Bruce Warren, who was most recently seen in Anything Goes as Moonface Martin and as Adolpho in The Drowsy Chaperone. He will be starring alongside Chris French, an MGR newcomer.Running July 13th through August 20th, Cooking with the Calamari Sisters takes place on the set of the sisters’ fictional cable-access cooking show, Mangia Italiano. Serving up laughs as large as the pasta they create, the zany Calamari sisters take their audiences on a wild and laugh-filled romp as they prepare their latest dishes while belting out all of your old favorites from “Que Sera Sera” to “Mambo Italiano.” Cooking with the Calamari Sisters is geared towards an adult audience and is not recommended for children. This new musical was specially selected to be MGR’s first presentation in a new and intimate theatre in Downtown Auburn at Auburn Public Theater on Genesee Street. For more information or to purchase tickets, call (315) 255-1785 or toll-free (800) 457-8897, visit www.merry-go-round.com, or go to the Merry-Go-Round Box Office at Emerson Park on Owasco Lake.
