Savannah man arrested in Seneca Falls burglary

On 6/15/2011 at about 10:40 AM, Seneca Falls Police arrested, Michael A. Zona age 29, of Wilsey Road, Savannah, NY. Zona was arrested on an arrest warrant issued out of the Town of Seneca Falls Court by Judge Mahoney. Zona was charged with Burglary 3rd, Petit Larceny, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th, and Criminal Trespass 3rd. The charges stem from an incident that occurred on 6/12/2011 where Zona drove on to the property of a fenced in business in Seneca Falls and stole 34 steel pallet rack crossbeams which belonged to the business.Seneca Falls Police while on routine patrol observed Zona’s vehicle exiting the gated business with his pick-up truck loaded with the 34 steel crossbeams in the back of the vehicle. Seneca Falls Police stopped said vehicle and it was found that Zona didn’t own the steel crossbeams and didn’t have permission to take the crossbeams or to be on the property.It was also learned that Zona was operating the vehicle while his driver’s license was revoked and also held a New York State Identification Only card. Zona was also charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 2nd and unlicensed operator on 6/12/2011.Zona was arraigned in front of the Honorable Judge Mahoney in the Town of Seneca Falls Court on 6/12/11 for the AUO 2nd and Unlicensed Operator. Zona was remanded to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 insured bond.After the police investigation, Seneca Falls Police filed paperwork with the Town of Seneca Falls Court for a warrant for Zona charging Zona with Burglary 3rd, Petit Larceny, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th, and Criminal Trespass 3rd. Seneca Falls Police were assisted by the New York State Police out of Lyons, Wayne County in locating and apprehending Zona. Zona was arraigned in front of the Honorable Judge Mahoney where $2,500 dollars cash bail was set. Before leaving court Zona was able to post bail and was released. Zona is scheduled to re-appear in the Town of Seneca Falls Court at a later date.
