Gregory Kenneth Leschander, age 35, of Bloomfield, NY was arrested after contacting Lifeline and reporting he had taken an overdose and then tied his mother up and had her in the trunk of his car.Upon plotting the cell phones used by the defendant and several deputies searching the areas in which they plotted, the defendant was located sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle in the parking lot of Roseland Plaza. The defendant admitted to making the calls while at Canandaigua Wegmans and that the events he had reported had never happened.The defendant was arrested for falsely reporting an incident in the third degree and arraigned in the Town of Hopewell Court in front of Justice Smithling and committed to the Ontario County Jail in lieu of $250.00 cash bail or $500,00 bond. The defendant will„ reappear in the City of Canandaigua Court to answer the charges at a later date.
