Clyde woman hurt in Waterloo accident – FingerLakes1.com Archive

Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on 05/27/2011 at 3:51 pm Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a personal injury motor vehicle accident at the intersection of State Route 96 and Whiskey Hill Road. Sheriff’s Deputies on scene determined that Alex Barberi age 56 of 17 Douglas Drive Waterloo was operating his 2007 Chevy Cobalt traveling westbound on State Route 96 approaching the intersection at which time Sharon Shoemaker, age 45 of 12 John Street Clyde NY entered the intersection traveling south from Whiskey Hill Rd in her 2000 Chevy Blazer. At that time Berberi’s vehicle struck Shoemaker’s vehicle causing Shoemaker to drive off of the roadway. Barberi was transported by Phelps Ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment of neck and back pain. Shoemaker and a second passenger in her vehicle Denelle Brewer age 79 of 2571 Brewer Rd. Waterloo were uninjured in the accident. A third passenger in Shoemaker’s vehicle Ernestine Lindner age 69 of 5770 New Hartford A203 Wolcott, NY was transported by North Seneca Ambulance to Clifton Springs Hospital for treatment of head and face pain. Shoemaker was issued a traffic ticket for failure to yield the right of way and is to answer the charge in the Town of Waterloo Court at a later date.
