Garage sale and lacrosse lovers find common ground thanks to the Friends of Ganondagan?s first-ever Spring Sale on Saturday, June 11, from 9 am-4 pm. Proceeds from the sale will be used to help purchase wooden sticks for Ganondagan?s Wooden Sticks Lacrosse Game Day on August 13, 2011, as well as for other future programming featuring that popular Native sport. Costs for traditional hand-made wooden sticks run at least $125/stick. Monetary donations will be accepted at the sale as well as by mail, phone (742-1690), or through www.ganondagan.org. Individuals or groups also may ?adopt? a stick directly by donating $125.Ganondagan?s Spring Sale will feature many new and ?gently used? items including numerous Native-themed or handmade items such as books, posters, music, DVDs, art, and more. There also will be an opportunity to enter a raffle for some special items.The sale will take place at the lower parking lot and maintenance building at Ganondagan State Historic Site. There is no fee required, and no early birds will be allowed prior to the opening. There still is time left for the community to donate to the sale. Items can be dropped off through May 29 at the Ganondagan Visitors Center from 10am-4pm. All items to be donated should be in good or working condition.
