On May 19, 2011 at about 02:00 AM The Village of Waterloo Police Department responded to the area of Inslee Street for the report of two males stealing property out of vehicles. Upon investigating the scene, the following arrests were made:William O. Leonard Jr. age 18 of 210 West Main Street Waterloo, NY 13165 was charged with Petit Larceny and Conspiracy in the 6th degree.Louis J. Saito age 17 of 14 1/2 Clark Street Waterloo, NY 13165 was charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the fifth degree and Conspiracy in the 6th degree.It is alleged that the two males agreed to steal property out of unlocked vehicles throughout the Village of Waterloo. Leonard would enter the vehicles and steal the property while Saito would provide a look-out and warn Leonard if police vehicles were seen in the area. Both parties were issued Appearance Tickets and were released. Both are scheduled to appear in the Village of Waterloo Court before Judge Mattoon on June 1, 2011 to answer the charges.The Village of Waterloo Police Department in accordance with this arrest would like to remind the residents in the Village of Waterloo to always lock up there personal property including homes, vehicles, sheds and gargages. If personal property does get stolen or is missing contact the Waterloo Police Department at 539-2022 to file a complaint.
