Superintendent Dr. Robert Young and CSEA President Mark Yeckley have announced a tentative agreement on a new one-year contract between the CSEA and the school district. The terms of the settlement include a pay freeze for CSEA members and the restoration of several CSEA positions in the budget for the 2011-12 fiscal year. The tentative agreement is subject to ratification by the full CSEA membership in the coming days. The Board of Education will be asked to provide legislative approval at its regular meeting on June 13. “I would like to congratulate CSEA President Mark Yeckley and Human ResourceAdministrator Steve Kruger for their efforts in reaching this agreement,” Young said. “This accord represents a win-win circumstance for both the District and CSEA and will restore several staff positions which were slated for elimination under the current budget. Thanks also go to Renee Chichester, CSEA Labor Relations Specialist, and Brent Cooley, Labor Relations Specialist of the Cayuga Onondaga BOCES, retained by the District.”
