On 05-09-11, just before 4:00 pm, Ontario County Sheriffs responded to the area of CR.#37 north. of Jersey Hill Rd. in Canadice for a reported MVA roll-over.Upon arrival it was found that Lois L. Sanford , age 81, was traveling southbound on. CR37 with her husband 81 yr. old James D. Sanford, both of Springwater, in the front passenger seat. Mrs. Sanford reports that she had turned up the heat as her husband was cold. She believed that she became sleepy and the vehicle drifted off the west shoulder of the highway.The vehicle traveled into a ditch, hit a culvert and roiled over coming to rest on its wheels facing southwest in the road.Mrs. Sanford complained of lower body pain. She was transported. to Strong by ambulance. Mr. Sanford suffered apparent head. and facial injuries, He was transported to Strong by Mercy Flight.On Tuesday, it was learned that Mr. Sanford had died as a result of his injuries.
