Tony Collins golf tournament set for July 7th

Another spectacular celebrity line up will be cutting the turf at the 3rd annual Tony Collins, Class of ‘77 Celebrity Golf Classic. The events kick off July 7th, Thursday; 7-9 p.m. with a Celebrity Social at the Penn Yan Moose Lodge #2030 in Penn Yan, the community is invited to attend. The social includes celebrity autographs, raffles, memorabilia sales, scholarship awards, and much more!The Celebrity Golf Classic begins on Friday July 8th with team registration and lunch at 11:30 a.m. followed by the “Celebrity Auction” which gives tournament registrants an opportunity to bid on former NFL players to join their tournament team. Tee off is at 1:20 p.m. All registrants are invited to a steak dinner at Penn Yan Moose Lodge #2030 immediately after the tournament. The registration deadline is June 15, 2011.The 2nd annual Tony Collins Foundation Youth Football and Cheerleading Camp will also be held July 8, Friday, 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Penn Yan Academy Sports Complex. The camp is free, but pre-registration is required. Students will receive instruction and training from semi-pro football players and cheerleaders and will have an opportunity to meet former NFL players. Participants are asked to bring canned goods to the camp for our food drive. The Tony Collins Foundation is a 501(c) 3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to the creation and support of programs which inspire academic and athletic achievement in the youth of Penn Yan and the Finger Lakes region. Last year the foundation distributed over $12,000 to programs serving Penn Yan and Finger Lakes youth. The organization was founded by Tony Collins, a Penn Yan native, who had an outstanding career in the NFL as a running back for the New England Patriots and the Miami Dolphins.
