On Thursday evening at approximately 11:00, Ontario County 911 dispatched Trooper Crudele to a suspicious person looking through vehicles in a parking area on Outlet Road in the Village of Shortsville. Upon the trooper’s arrival, the subject fled the area on foot. Trooper Crudele gave chase on foot and followed the subject into a wooded, swampy area. An Ontario County probation officer heard the dispatch and arrived on scene to assist in locating the subject. After a short while, the subject was located and arrested.The man. John Cartwright of Manchester, was charged with trespass and obstructing governmental administration.He was transported to the State Police Barracks in Canandaigua where he was processed. He was then arraigned in the Town of Manchester Court and remanded to the Ontario County Jail in lieu of $500 bail. He is due back in the Town of Manchester Court on May 4.
