Teen arrested at Hillside for pulling fire alarm

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Naymah J. Godwin age 16 of State Route 96A Romulus, NY. Godwin was arrested following an investigation by the Sheriff’s Office into a fire alarm system that had been activated at Hillside Children’s Center, Varick Campus when there was no report or evidence of an emergency. It is alleged that Godwin pulled the fire alarm initiating an emergency response by the fire department and an evacuation of the building. Godwin was charged with Falsely Reporting an Incident in the 2nd degree which is a Class E felony. Godwin was arraigned in the Town of Ovid Court before Justice Ewing at which time she was remanded to the custody of the Sheriff at the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1,000.00 cash bail or $2,000.00 secured bond. Godwin is expected to appear in the Town of Varick Court at a later date for further court action.
