Photography can be an art, a science, and a communication tool, and can be used to effectively record events, ideas, and situations for study or for reference. Digital cameras are becoming more and more common, and youth can learn to master this fast-growing technology at 4-H photography classes being offered by Cornell Cooperative Extension Schuyler County 4-H Youth Development. Youth ages 10 and up are invited to join us for an exciting exploration of digital photography. Led by a skilled resource volunteer, youth will learn how to take digital action shots with clarity, gain hands on practice taking photos of dog agility during the class, and visit a local farm for photo opportunities. Class will meet from 1-3 p.m. on Saturdays May 7, 14, 21, (break for Memorial Day festivities), and finish on June 4. Participants must be 10 years old and will need to bring a point and shoot camera (no disposable cameras or cell phone cameras please). Cost is $10 if you are a current 4-H member, and $20 if you are not a 4-H member. Pre-registration required by calling 607-535-7161 by May 4. To register, please contact Cate at 607-535-7161 or email schuyler4h@cornell.eduCornell Cooperative Extension offers equal program and employment opportunities.WHO: Youth, ages 10+, 4-H membership NOT required.WHAT: 4-H Photography classesWHEN: Saturdays May 7, 14, 21, (break for Memorial Day festivities), and finish on June 4, 1-3 p.m. each dayWHERE: Schuyler County Human Services ComplexFEE: $20 ($10 for 4-H members)PREREGISTER: Call Cate at 607-535-7161 or email schuyler4h@cornell.edu by May 4
