Postal customers need not be concerned that the U.S. Postal Service will be affected by a possible government shutdown. As a self-supporting government enterprise that receives no tax dollars to support postal operations, a federal shut down would have no effect on mail collection, distribution and delivery. “Even if the government is put on hold, we will continue to run,” said Western New York District Manager Kathleen Burns. “It will be business as usual for the Postal Service.” In addition, Passport Day in the USA on April 9 will occur at area Post Offices as scheduled.
