Cayuga County Clerk to seek re-election

Sue Dwyer is announcing that she will run for re-election for Cayuga County Clerk. Sue was elected in 2004 and is running for a third term. She was the first woman elected to a countywide office in Cayuga County. Dwyer said, “Every single day is a welcomed challenge and I absolutely love what I do.”“One of the accomplishments I’m proudest of is the Veterans discount program called Return The Favor. This is a win-win for Cayuga County—our Veterans get discounts at local businesses and more than 120 merchants get business from our Veterans. This program gives business owners a unique opportunity to give a well-deserved thank you to Veterans. “Dwyer comes from a business background. She focuses on marketing the County Clerks services to increase revenues and continually grow her customer base. In addition to impeccable customer service in the four departments she oversees, Sue has added a large passport banner on the front of the County Office building and uses newspaper ads and notes to her constituents to remind them that using local services keeps their hard earned money in Cayuga County. “It has always been my goal that when a customer visits our office, they leave with their business completed AND a smile on their face.”Dwyer travels throughout Cayuga County on a regular basis to bring services TO the people. She processes passports, Veterans discount cards and other services when she visit towns, villages, businesses and the mall. She travels on weeknights and weekends. Dwyer said, “This is very helpful to people who just can’t get to my office during the regular office hours.”Dwyer noted, “I would be remiss if I didn’t add that all of these accomplishments are the result of an organized team effort and I’d like to give credit to and thank the supervisors and staff in all four departments that I oversee.”“Anyone that knows me, knows that I love to campaign. I’ve already started my campaign efforts and plan to be very active on the campaign trail. I’m very excited and energized because going door to door and meeting my constituents allows me another opportunity to market the great services we offer at the County Clerks Office.”
