Sheriff David Gould reports that The Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a Fatal Motor Vehicle Accident in the Town of Moravia.At about 12:19 pm a 2006 Saturn SUV operated south on State Route 38 in the Town of Moravia by Thomas J Bolak (age 44) of Case Ave, Auburn crossed into the path of a 2002 School Bus which was northbound operated by First Student of Auburn and driven by Benedict Badalamenti (age 78) of Van Liew Road, Auburn. Mr. Bolak was the only occupant of the Saturn and was pronounced dead at the scene. Mr. Benedict and Bus Supervisor, Tami L Whiting (age 41), were the only occupants of the bus and were not injured.Investigation and Accident Reconstruction is being completed by the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office.Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Moravia Police Department, New York State Police, Four Town Ambulance, Moravia Fire Department and Scipio Fire Department.
