The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office has issued a travel advisory for Seneca County. The roads in Seneca County are open and passable with caution, but the Sheriff’s Office asks you to restrict travel to only that which is necessary.A winter storm over most of the Finger Lakes region has caused snow covered roads and slippery driving conditions. The storm is not anticipated to diminish until this evening when high winds are expected that will cause drifting snow and additional visibility issues. If you do need to travel drivers should use caution, remember to stay far enough behind other traffic to allow for braking. State DOT and Seneca County Highway plow trucks are out and drivers are reminded to use caution when approaching these trucks. In the event that you do have vehicle problem call 911 and the closest emergency services will respond as quickly and safely as road conditions allow.
