The Cayuga Lake Wine Trail offers great savings to people who purchase the Season Pass to attend all four events for 2011. The Season Pass is a ticket to all events at a 35 percent discount. It makes a great gift, and if for some reason, the buyer or recipient is unable to use the complete set, they can share unused tickets with a friend or family member.The Mardi Gras event on March 5 and 6 opens the season. Attendees can participate in the Mardi Gras Scavenger Hunt, new this year, giving them a chance to win a case of gold medal award-winning wines.“Say Cheese” on March 26 and 27 is the newest event. Trail wineries will collaborate with the Finger Lakes Cheese Trail, and each winery will offer a different type of artisan cheese. A special “Say Cheese” photo contest will be held, and participants can enter their favorite photo shots taken during the event weekend, for a chance to win a specialty gift basket from Cayuga Lake wineries and Finger Lakes cheeseries.The Wine & Herb event, offered April 29 to May 1 or May 6 to 8, entitles attendees to collect up to 16 herb or veggie plants as they tour the participating wineries. And, the Holiday Shopping Spree event, November 18 through 20 or December 2 to 4, offers ticket holders to unique ornaments from each winery on the trail.The Wine and Herb and Holiday Shopping Spree events are now three-day events. Visitors can stop by Montezuma, Long Point, King Ferry (Treleaven) and Six Mile Creek wineries on the Friday of each to get a head start.A couple pass is $115 and a single pass is $70, plus handling fee and sales tax.
