Seneca County District Attorney Barry Porsch announced that a Seneca County Grand Jury has voted a one-count indictment charging Vincent K. Voorheis, County Road 139, Ovid, with one count of manslaughter in the second degree, a class C felony offense. The indictment alleges that on February 14, 2011 at approximately 9:50 P.M., while at 2178 Grove Street in the Village of Lodi, Seneca County, Voorheis recklessly caused the death of Sandra Marsh by shooting her in the throat with a 20-guage shotgun. Voorheis will be arraigned on the indictment in Seneca County Court on Monday, March 7, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. Because an indictment has been filed in County Court, the previously scheduled felony hearing in Lodi Town Court on February 18, 2011 will not take place. Voorheis is represented by Ithaca lawyer Wesley McDermott. For more on this story click here
