Fight in Seneca Falls ends with 2 arrests

2 people were arrested on warrants following an investigation into a fight in the Village of Seneca Falls. Village police report that on 02/02/11, Sara Smith, age 22, of 49 Mynderse Street, Apt. 2, Seneca Falls, NY was arrested on a warrant for Criminal Trespass in the 2nd Degree and Harassment in the 2nd Degree. Also arrested on a warrant for Harassment in the 2nd Degree was Tonya Thorpe, age 25, of 39 Troy Street, Seneca Falls, NY. Police state that on 01/26/11 they responded to Thorpe’s residence for a possible fight in progress. Upon further investigation, they discovered that Thorpe and Smith had a physical altercation that occurred inside the apartment and that Smith was told numerous times to leave the apartment and refused to do so and attacked Thorpe. Smith left prior to police’s arrival at the scene, but was located a short time later and stated that Thorpe had attacked her while both were inside the apartment. Smith and Thorpe were arraigned in Seneca Falls Town Court and both were committed to SCCF, with Smith having bail set at $500 Cash/$1000 Bond, and Thorpe having bail set at $250 Cash/$500 Bond. Both have to re-appear in court on 02/09/11 at 9 a.m. to answer the charges.
