The Keuka Lake Wine Trail will initiate its 2011 season with Truffles and Tastes, February 12-13, 2011. Enjoy the warmth of Keuka Lake’s wineries and the romance of the region’s finest wines, paired with a range of delicious foods, from savory to sweet. Truffles and Tastes, like the other event weekends, offers a lively food and wine experience at an unbeatable value. Each attendee will receive a gift box filled with eight unique artisan chocolate truffles to take home.For the third year, the Wine Trail has partnered with Hedonist Artisan Chocolates located in downtown Rochester, NY, to create a special collection of truffles infused with distinct wines from around Keuka Lake. “Truffles and Tastes is a food and wine lover’s paradise. Each winery is preparing hearty winter foods to pair with their wines and Hedonist Chocolates has created a delicious collection of truffles to delight our guests,” says Lisa Hallgren, owner of Ravines Wine Cellars. Attendees can look forward pairings such as a rich three-cheese fondue with fresh bread and Dry Riesling or a dark chocolate cherry truffle with Merlot.The Keuka Lake Wine Trail originated in 1985. Currently the participating wineries include Heron Hill Winery, Dr. Konstantin Frank’s Vinifera Wine Cellars, Stever Hill Vineyards, Hunt Country Vineyards, Keuka Spring Vineyards, Barrington Cellars, McGregor Vineyard Winery and Ravines Wine Cellars. The Wine Trail events have been shaped to meet the interests of all types of wine explorers.
