The Great Downtown Ithaca Chili Cook-Off returns for the 13th time on Saturday February 19th from 11:30 am – 4:00 pm on the Ithaca Commons and surrounding streets. The Downtown Ithaca Alliance would like to invite all interested parties to get involved in the pre-festival festivities. The annual People’s Chili Competition is the public’s opportunity to enter their personal recipes for the chance at producing 30 gallons of their beloved concoction as well as host their very own booth at the festival. All entrants will be judged upon: the creativity of the recipe, the overall taste and appeal of the chili and the ability for the chili to be reproduced in mass quantities. In order to enter, please submit all recipes to [email protected] or drop them off in person to the Downtown Ithaca Alliance office located at 171 E. State St.In addition to the People’s Chili competition, the 2nd annual Chili Cook-Off mustache competition returns in 2011. The mustache competition is your ticket to free chili. Grow it, craft it or stick it on and be spotted by the Chili photographer for your chance at complimentary VIP chili tasting tickets and other prizes.
