Why let your kids lounge around in front of the television Saturday mornings when they could be elbows deep in gloop or learning how to make a mammal? Budding scientists age 5-8 are invited to Cloverbud Science Camp, which will meet one Saturday per month from January through May. Members of the Schuyler County 4-H Teen Council will lead youth through fun, hands-on experiments and show how exciting science can be. Youth are naturally curious, and exposing them to science at an early age and in an engaging way shows them that science is just part of every day life, and not intimidating at all. Who knows, we may even inspire the next Einstein! Classes will cover:Good to the Last Drop: Learn about water quality and conservationEco-Wonders: Explore the environment and learn how to make a mammalChemistry Fun: Making GloopDon’t Break That Egg: First the science, then the fun behind the egg dropDiscover Fiber Science: Make secret messagesSpace is limited, and pre-registration is required 607-535-7161. Classes will meet 10:30-11:30 a.m. on January 22, February 26, March 26, April 30, and May 21 at the Schuyler County Human Services Complex. Fee: $15 covers all 5 classes ($10 for Schuyler County 4-H members).
