Seneca County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Balsley Rd in the Town of Seneca Falls for the report of a two car personal injury motor vehicle accident. Desmond A Lawton , 18, of Waterloo, N.Y., was east bound on Balsley Rd when a west bound vehicle being operated by Theresa Diaz, 18, of Waterloo, N.Y., lost control and slid into Lawton’s lane. Lawton attempted to avoid Diaz but was unable to and was struck head on by Diaz. Lawton’s vehicle was spun around and came to rest in the middle of the road. Diaz’s vehicle left the south side of the road and overturned coming to rest in the ditch. Diaz was transported to Geneva General Hospital with a possible concussion. Lawton was uninjured; however a passenger in Lawton’s vehicle, Bethany Destefano, 18, of Seneca Falls, N.Y., was transported to Geneva General Hospital with pain in her abdomen and ribs. Both vehicles suffered extensive damage and were towed from the scene.
