This holiday season, Wayne County Fairground in Palmyra, NY transforms into a shimmering winter wonderland. Preparations are underway for the new Nights of Shimmering Lights holiday light show, which will take place at the Fairgrounds from November 26th through January 4th, 2011.Experience the area’s premier holiday event. Visit the Fairgrounds to see the spectacular 1.5 mile drive-through Christmas Light Park with your family and friends while listening to the sounds of the season from your car radio. Nights of Shimmering Lights will have approximately 450 LED light displays, animated arches and dancing trees to greet visitors. Children will laugh in glee at the antics of the diving penguins and pink Christmas elephant stealing presents. Don’t forget to look for the Christmas mice throughout the Light Park. The event is “green” friendly with 95% of the lights as LED technology and will use almost 90 percent less energy than incandescent bulbs, meaning it will use less electricity than ten typical New York households use in a given month over its 40-night schedule.Admission will be $12 per passenger vehicle, $20 activity van and $45 bus. $2 of the admission price is given back to community organizations as a fundraiser. Visit the website for more information and to register your organization.Open nightly 5-9 p.m. Sunday-Thursday and 5-10 p.m. Friday & Saturday, Nov. 26-Jan. 4.
