Seneca County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a barn fire at 1855 Gravel Rd. in the Town of Seneca Falls on Wednesday. When Deputies arrived on scene the structure was engulfed in flames. The barn owner Thomas Delabbio, age 83, of the same address was out of town visiting family. Thomas’s daughter Linda Craig, age 55, of the same address was home getting ready for work when she was alerted by a neighbor that the barn was on fire. Seneca Falls Fire Dept along with Red Jacket and Magee Fire Dept. responded to the scene and extinguished the fire in approx. 20 minutes. It is believed that a faulty space heater is to blame for the fire. A family dog 15 yrs old named “King “died in the fire. The fire is being labeled accidental.
