Parents and teachers interested in Interlaken and its Main Street are invited to a community meeting scheduled for 7:00pm, Wednesday, November 17, 2010 in the Elementary School Auditorium, Main Street, Interlaken. The Interlaken Village Board and the Main Street Revitalization Committee along with planning, design and architecture students involved in Cornell’s DesignConnect student group are gathering public input for the creation of a unified aesthetic visioin of the Village’s Main Street area that will increase its vibrancy, utility, and aesthetic appeal. This will be a fun, interactive meeting, hopefully a not-to-miss event! In this meeting, DesignConnect students will present options for Main Street to the Interlaken community along with soliciting suggestions and ideas to create stronger community through design. The input gathered at this meeting will be considered in a recommendation for a Main Street Streetscape Plan. Input from parents of students who attend school in Interlaken is especially encouraged, as the goal is to make Main Street appealing to all members of the Interlaken community, including children who attend school in Interlaken and parents who live or visit Interlaken. Anyone who may not be able to stay for the entire meeting is invited to still stop by and share their input.
