On a beautiful autumn Saturday, top golfers from the Seneca Falls Country Club and Silver Creek in Waterloo faced off in the annual Ryder Cup style Canal Cup matches. This year’s abridged format featured 6 best ball matches and 6 2-man scramble matches between the two 12 man squads.Half of the matches took place at Seneca Falls Country Club with half being played at Silver Creek.Silver Creek took a commanding 4 1/2 to 1 1/2 point lead after the morning best ball matches but it was SFCC who turned the tables in the afternoon scramble matches to ultimately earn enough points to retain the Canal Cup by a 7 to 5 margin.The SFCC team was captained by Doug Brown and Silver Creek was captained by Jeff Kapps.
