On 09/23/10 a Waterloo Village Police Dept. officer arrested John E. Mattero, age 43, of 500 Liberty St., Penn Yan, N.Y. on a warrant of arrest charging him with Aggravated Harassment 2nd. degree. It is alleged Mattero called and sent numerous text messages to a Village of Waterloo resident on 9/21/10 and 9/22/10 that were harassing in nature. Mattero was arraigned in the Village of Waterloo Court, Judge Mattoon, and was committed to the Seneca County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1500 cash bail or $3000 bail bond. Mattero is to reappear in court on 11/3/10 at 9:00 A.M. to answer the charge. An order of protection was issued, and Mattero is currently on probation through Yates County Probation Dept. on unrelated charges.
