Ithaca police are seeking leads on a reported armed robbery of a local Ithaca hotel. Early Wednesday morning, a masked gunman took an unknown amount of cash from the Ithaca Super 8, 400 South Meadow Street, according to authorities.A desk clerk, walking in the location’s parking lot, was forced back into the business. After the gunman forced the clerk to lay down on the floor, the assailant told a second clerk to open the cash register. The gunman then fled in a northerly direction, police say.The alleged armed robber was described as a young black man with dark complexion, wearing a dark-colored jacket with a red handkerchief covering his face.The Ithaca Police Department asks anyone with information regarding the incident to call 607-272-9973 or 697-0333.
