Fraudulent donation calls for police reported

Yates County Sheriff’s Office investigating recent complaints of telephone calls soliciting donations for Sheriffs or NY State Police. This is a fraudulent activity. Legitimate and professional law enforcement agencies do not solicit over the telephone. Investigation indicates that caller is using the name AUTOPRO MARKETING, Hicksville, NY registered out of Westchester County New York. This is an inactive corporation being dissolved January 27, 2010 as a legitimate business registered with the Dept. of State as corporation. ANY CALLS FROM AUTOPRO MARKETING seeking donations are to be consider fraudulent. Notify law enforcement should someone telephone call and harass you doing this type of activity.
