2010 Special Olympics coming to Seneca Falls

Special Olympics New York’s 2010 State Fall Games will be held for the second year in the Seneca Falls Community. Fall Games is one of three annual state games and more than 3,500 total competitions held each year throughout New York. Nearly 900 athletes and coaches will be joining us from around the state. Bruce Bonafiglia of BonaDent Dental Laboratories is the Honorary Chair and Tony Petroccia of the New York Chiropractic College is the Games Organizing Chair.The event begins with our Opening Ceremonies on Friday, evening October 1, at the New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls. Event competitions will be held Saturday, October 2, at the following venues: * Bocce – SMS Club, Seneca Falls * Cross Country Running – New York Chiropractic College * Cycling – New York Chiropractic College * Equestrian – Lehman Farms, Pittsford, New York * Golf & Golf Skills – Seneca Falls Country Club * Soccer – New York Chiropractic College * Softball – Waterloo High SchoolVolunteers are needed to fill key roles in support of the competitions: * Staff the sports venues: Bocce, Cross country Running, Cycling, Equestrian, Golf, Soccer and Softball. * Set up/break down sports venues, and distribute lunch, and water to athletes and coaches. * Support Opening Ceremonies. * Be Fans in the Stands at Opening Ceremonies and at sports venues, cheering the athletes on to victory.Volunteer assignments will be made on a first come first served basis.
