Seneca County Sheriff’s Deputies investigated a two car motor vehicle accident in the Town of Tyre. A vehicle driven by Nelson B. Hyde, age 39, Clyde, NY ran a stop sign at the intersection of Lay Road and East Tyre Rd. Hyde’s vehicle struck a vehicle that was north bound on East. Tyre Road. driven by Charlene M. Verkey, age 61, of 2345 W. Tyre Rd, Seneca Falls, NY. Verkey had an eight year old passenger in her vehicle that was not injured. Hyde had two children, a seven and eleven year old passengers in his vehicle. The seven year old child suffered scratches on his face from the air bag deployment. He was treated at the scene by North Seneca Ambulance and transported to Geneva General Hospital for further evaluation. The eleven year old was not injured. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene. Hyde was ticketed for failure to stop at a stop sign, aggravated unlicensed operation in the third degree and unlicensed operator.
