The Middlesex Fire Department was dispatched to 1137 South Lake Road, Middlesex, on Friday evening shortly before 5:00 pm for a report of a boating accident on Keuka Lake with two persons that were unconscious.It was soon reported that two persons, a male and a female in their twenties were riding behind a boat on a water tube which struck a dock. Also called to the scene was the Yates County Sheriff’s boat patrol, two ambulances from Middlesex, two ALS crews and two helicopters from Mercy Flight.A sheriff’s department officer on scene confirmed that both victims had suffered broken legs and facial injuries. A landing zone was set up in a nearby field off South Vine Valley Road. Both victims were transported by Mercy Flight to Strong Memorial 5:50 p.m. Submitted by Wilson Simmons, Yates County Gazette
