Fuzzy Guppies Named Business of the Month

The Seneca County Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the selection of Fuzzy Guppies as the July Business of the Month. The successful watercraft sales and rental business, located on the Seneca-Cayuga Canal in Waterloo, has quickly become a favorite summertime destination for visitors and residents alike. Fuzzy Guppies is a concept that Norbert and Justin Hausner have had in their minds for years! The father and son team worked hard in developing a strong business plan which would bring this easy going, water loving company to life. It was the completion of their company logo, a scruffy fish which resembles the family run business to a “T”, which really made their ideas take off.Norbert is a successful Architect from Rochester, who designed such local landmarks as the Belhurst Castle addition and the Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel. Justin, who has been canoeing and kayaking for over 15 years, is accredited from the American Canoe Association as a canoe and kayak instructor. Together, they utilized their collective talents to turn their vision into a reality and start a company which allowed them to nurture their true passion. Fuzzy Guppies rents and sells all forms of “Human Powered Watercrafts” at the Waterloo Harbor Campground, located at 1278 Waterloo Geneva Road. Among their products are: canoes, kayaks, paddle boats, and of course, the Human Hamster Ball (an 8’ diameter, clear beach ball that allows people of all ages to actually WALK ON WATER!). Fuzzy Guppies also has a full retail store carrying all sorts of water sports essentials. Their focus on customer service is evidenced through a unique shuttle service for renters wanting to experience water adventures in various locations. They offer lessons geared for enthusiasts of all levels. Special events include birthday parties and the popular Full Moon Paddle to Oak Island.Justin Hausner stated “My father and I have big plans for the future land and business development as well as community involvement. Our renovations and improvements to the Waterloo Harbor Campground have already proved to be a big success. Now we are working on becoming more involved within our surrounding communities, with programs for organizations such as: Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, YMCA, Community Centers and many more. We even have a plan to make the old “Ye Old Wood Shop” into an artisan’s row of shops that will showcase the art and products of the Finger Lakes Region.” For More information about Fuzzy Guppies, visit www.Fuzzyguppies.com or call the office at (315) 539 – 8848.
