Shea Holbrook is Racing for a Cure

Groveland FL and Penfield NY, June 17, 2010 – Shea Racing partners with Dick Ide Honda leading up to the World Challenge Watkins Glen Race July 3rd to help spread awareness and raise funds for Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy. Shea has two cousins with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, Matthew and Jordan Klapp. (Matthew 1989 – 2008). Rookie driver Shea Holbrook has proven she has what takes during the March Acura Sports Car Challenge of St. Petersburg with World Challenge. Shea’s performance on the track as a driver was more than expected. She finished 6th and raised nearly $8,000 in racing to END Duchenne, proving that this young driver is a winner. Shea hopes to meet the Bartels, Keeley and Piacentino families in victory lane at the World Challenge Watkins Glen Race on July 3rd and present a $10,000 check to Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy. All three families have sons affected with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Shea’s dream is to be the next Danica Patrick (Indy Car driver). Shea races with a passion for the sport and starting every race to cross the finish line, ending Duchenne. A real win for Shea will be when a cure is found and her cousin Jordan and all the boys with Duchenne can grow up to be race car drivers, CEO’s, lawyers, and fathers.
