Ontario County, New York – On Friday, June 18, 2010, a quorum of the Executive Committee of the Ontario County Conservative Party voted to endorse US Senatorial Candidate Jay Townsend. Members of the committee including, Chairman Steven G. Poyzer, Vice Chair Michael Kloppel, Secretary Laurene Holcomb and At Large member attended the interview session hosted by the 912 Victor Tea Party at the Hilltop Inn and Suites in Farmington, NY featuring Townsend. Townsend fielded questions ranging from federal mandates impacting New York State, government dealings with the British Petroleum oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, issues facing Arizona in their attempt to protect citizens from illegal aliens and criminals crossing their border, as well as, federal failure to secure the border, taxation, education, and the spending, deficit and debt burden currently being incurred by the Obama administration and Congress.The members of the Ontario County Conservative Party present after conferring and finding the candidate embodying sound conservative and constitutional values and principles voted to offer Townsend their endorsement. The endorsement which follows the State Committee’s endorsement of Townsend is primarily symbolic, but offers yet another county committee’s support to Townsend, strengthening his campaign.
