The Downtown Ithaca M&T Bank Summer Concert Series returns in 2010 with a dozen shows on Thursday evenings from June 17th to August 26th. The free outdoor concert series is held from 6 – 8 pm in the Bernie Milton Pavilion on the Commons and in the immediate surrounding area. A single Wednesday evening show is planned for July 21st; the eve of the start to the annual Grassroots Festival of music and dance in Trumansburg, NY.This year’s summer concert series features an eclectic range of music from; Classical to Jazz, Funk to Folk and Latin to Pop. Veteran Downtown Ithaca Summer Concert musicians such as the Burns Sisters and Hubcap return to the stage on July 1st and August 19th respectively, while the Sim Redmond Band is welcomed back to the Summer Concert Stage, after a brief hiatus, to close out the series on August 26th. In addition to returning local acts this year’s lineup also features the Americana infused music of Driftwood out of Binghamton, NY on July 15th and the soulful pop music of burgeoning Australian sensation Ry Cuming, fresh off his tour with Maroon 5 and Guster, on July 29th. The Downtown Ithaca M&T Bank Summer concert series kicks off Thursday June 17th with the first of two performances by the Ithaca Concert Band.
