Seneca Co. Chamber Welcomes New Executive Director

The Seneca County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Jeffrey M. Shipley has been selected as the Chamber’s new Executive Director. He will start on June 14th 2010. The search committee was impressed with the quality and number of applicants for this opportunity. A thorough review of all applications was performed with several candidates being interviewed for the position. “The search committee was very diligent in identifying candidates with the required background and attributes. It was a challenge considering the breadth and diversity of the applicants. However, Jeff came up as an optimal fit for our organization”, said Lisa Fitzgerald, Board Chair of the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce.“I’m excited to be part of such a dynamic organization as the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce,” said Jeff Shipley. “I look forward to contributing to the growth and development of our community for its businesses, residents and visitors.” Mr. Shipley is a native of Waterloo and an alumnus of DeSales High School in Geneva. He most recently held the position of Business Development Manager at CHA Inc., in Rochester. Prior experience also includes roles that leveraged his leadership, marketing and organizational skills in both state government and the local tourism industry. He received a degree in business management from St. John Fisher College in Rochester and is currently pursuing an advanced degree in Information Technology from State University of New York. The Chamber board and staff look forward to the opportunity to work with Jeff as he continues our efforts to advocate business opportunities on behalf of our members and to promote Seneca County and tourism.
